INTRODUCTION
Coaches will learn the necessary skills required for handling of difficult people, challenging situations and the principles of effective communication.

OBJECTIVES
The course objectives are to prepare participants to:
a. To communicate instructions effectively
b. To be more aware of non-verbal communication cues, such as body language, body posture, gestures, and facial expressions
c. To build sensitivity to cultural variations and manage different forms of conflicts
d. To be able to listen and also convey ideas more effectively to different types of students/trainees
e. To practice tact, when communicating with difficult students/trainees (individuals/teams) and parents
COURSE CONTENTS
The following topics would be covered in the course
a. How to effectively communicate instruction
b. How to be sensitive to body language and learn how to read and use it
c. How to build sensitivity to cultural variations and manage different forms of conflicts
d. How to listen more effectively and convey ideas effectively to students
e. How to communicate with different students (individuals/teams) and parents, and develop confidence in effective communication.
COURSE DATES & DETAILS
Saturday, 15 January 2011, 9am to 5pm, Republic Polytechnic, 9 Woodlands Avenue 9, Singapore 738964, CET Room 4.
NO. OF PARTICIPANTS
Each session can accommodate a maximum of 25 participants and registration is on a first-come-first-served basis.
COURSE FEES
The course fee is SGD $100.00 for Non-NROC coach, SGD $50.00 for NROC coach.
For cheque payments, it should be made payable to “Singapore Sports Council”. Cheque can be mailed to Singapore Sports Council, 230 Stadium Boulevard, Singapore 397799, c/o NROC, Sports Coaching Department.
For cash payment, please come in personally with the completed application form to Sport Coaching department at Singapore Sports Council, 230 Stadium Boulevard, Singapore 397799.
REGISTRATION
Registration will be closed on the 7 January 2011 or when participation reaches the maximum capacity of 25, whichever is earlier. Registration is closed for this course.
Please fill up the attached registration form and return to Singapore Sports Council, Sports Coaching department with full payment.

CERTIFICATION
Participants will be awarded with a Certificate of Attendance upon completion of the course.
NROC coaches will be awarded Continuing Coaching Education (CCE) Learning Hours.
