Singapore Athletics and Emaan Catalyst did a community involvement project to help the underprivileged and orphanage children in Cambodia from the 6th to 8th Dec 2019.

We accomplished our mission today by organizing a Kids’ Athletics Carnival. Emaan Catalyst will assist us by providing volunteers for our KA events in 2020.

We would like to thank our four volunteers and their parents from Victoria School for assisting us in the program.

It was an enriching experience for all of us. Most importantly, the Cambodian children were beaming with joy after a good session of KA Carnival.

Volunteering the above program helps us develop important values such as empathy and the ability to care for others. As an organisation, we want to feel for families in need and do our best to help them. This will also strengthen bonds between families and communities

Contact us if you wish to be part of this initiative.

For the usage of the field, they will be using the other half closer to the pole vault area.

Race Report

2019 Standard Chartered Singapore Marathon was a resounding success, and Singapore Athletics is honoured to be part of the team. Aside from providing sanction for the event, SA also provided officiating and technical support (Photo Finish). Not forgetting we would like to congratulate all our local elite runners on your run.

Organized by Ironman Asia, the event was Singapore’s inaugural evening race recorded the highest number of marathon finishers in the event’s 18-year history.

For the second straight year, Kenyan Joshua Kipkorir was the quickest person to complete the Standard Chartered Singapore Marathon. Boasting a time of 2:19:13, the defending champion led the race from start to finish, striding into the sunset amidst Singapore’s dazzling night sky.

Priscah Cherono made it a double for Kenya as she shattered the course record for the elite women’s category with a time of 2:28:53. Her win bettered Salina Kosgei’s 13-year time by almost three minutes.

Kota Hokonuie and Madison De Rozario won the elite wheelchair categories with times of 1:36:23 and 1:49:56 respectively. against a highly competitive field. The duo came out on top against Paralympians and former marathon major champions in the largest ever wheelchair contingent at SCSM.

In the local categories, defending champion Soh Rui Yong made it a hat trick as he was crowned men’s local champion for a third time with a finishing time of 2:45:52.

His counterpart, Sharon Tan won her maiden race with a time of 3:12:52. Tan breaks a two-year run of compatriot Rachel See underlining the highly competitive field of elite women marathoners in Singapore.
