The 20km Race Walk Selection Trial for Asian Racewalking Championships (Nomi, Japan) will be held on 5 Feb 0800H at East Coast Park carpark B1.
Trial Distance: 5km, 10km and 20km for both genders
Date: 5 Feb 2017, Sunday
Time: 7.30am (All distance races will start at the same time)
Venue: East Coast Park, B1 Carpark Shelter
Selection Criteria
a) For Singapore Citizen only (Male/Female).
b) Qualifying standards as follow:-
-
Male walker qualifying time :- 1hr: 40:00
Female walker qualifying timing :- 2hrs:00:00
c) Only 1 Male & 1 Female walker shall be in the final Team to Asian Race Walking Championships.
d) If in the event none of the walkers qualified, the top finisher (Male and Female, respectively), recording a timing

3% off, athlete will have to bear 30% of the Air-Fare,
6% off, athlete will have to bear 60% of the Air-Fare,
10% off, athlete will have to bear 80% of the Air-Fare and
if more than 10% off, 100% of the Air-Fare (N.B. Selection Committee reserves the option here not to select at all)
e) Any athlete who is disqualified (Breaching the walking rules) during the trial shall not be selected.

Terms & Conditions
- All proper entries and unattached entry fees must reach us BEFORE the stipulated closing date
- All late entries WILL NOT be entertained
- Strictly NO changing of category and event once the start list is published
- For foreign athlete or team’s participation, will need to produce sanction letter from your country athletics member federation and send to SAA
- There will be no refund of entry fees for any withdrawal/ no-show/ poor weather condition after the closing date
- SAA deserved the rights to final decision on all matters pertaining to the event
For MOE Schools entry form application only
- Kindly inform SAA immediately if you do not receive any confirmation within 3 WORKING DAYS of your submission of entries.
- SAA will send an acknowledgement via email upon received of entries. Hence, please ensure that a valid email address is submitted in your entry form
- Only EXCEL (.XLS) file format entry form will be accepted
- Improper entry form data will not be accepted
- Athlete or team that are not under MOE school or affiliated to SAA will be consider as Unattached

Notes
- Event with less than two (2) entries received at closing date will be cancelled, except for field events
- Athlete is to indicate his/her season & personal best performance in the entry form
- Start list timing is to be used as guide only, athletes and team managers are responsible to check the reporting timing of their event and report to the call room accordingly
- Start list is only available on first come first serve basis, it can be download from https://www.singaporeathletics.org.sg/. Results can be view online on https://tnf.sg/
- Please collect the number tags from the SAA Administration Counter at the competition venue at least 60mins before the session;
- Protest concerning the results or conduct of the event shall be made 30 MINS within the official announcement/published of the result
- Protest can be made orally to the referee by an athlete or team manager of the of the team
- Appeal concerning the results or conduct of the event shall be made 30 MINS within the official announcement/published of the result
- Appeal shall be in writing, signed by athlete, by team manager or in charge accompanied by a deposit of USD$100.00 or equivalent, which will be forfeited if appeal is not allowed. If the appeal is upheld the deposit will be returned in full
- TRACK EVENTS
- All competitors shall report to the Call Room Judges 30 MINS before the Start of each event;
- The competitor will not be allowed to compete if he/ she reports to the Starter directly without first reporting to the Call Room Judges
- FIELD EVENTS
- Horizontal Jumps and Throws competitors shall report to the Field Judges 45 MINS before the Start of each event;
- High Jump and Pole Vault

1. ATHLETE ELIGIBILITY
Athletes qualified to take part in the 2nd Asian Youth Athletics Championships have birthdates from year 2000 - 2001 (Athletes aged 16 or 17 years). No athlete younger than 16 years may be entered.

In the event that the selected athletes decided to withdraw (prior to the departure/did not compete at all) due to injury or other reasons (unless clash of events), the athlete have to bear the full cost (air tickets, insurances, accommodation or other costs) that SAA have paid for the trip.
Please submit your interest to SAA (SAA) once the competition information is published and window is open.
Please also be reminded to strictly adhere to any stipulated closing date for submission for each meet.

Based on the quota given by the organizer (on a meet by meet basis), SAA will send any Singaporean athlete who meets the Youth qualifying mark.
Conditions
When only 2 Athletes per country are allowed to be entered per event and if more than 2 athletes meet the qualifying marks, the top 2 ranked athletes within the qualifying window period will be nominated.
All SAA sanctioned competition results will be considered for nomination.
All athletes who are nominated and selected will have to attend all Team Training, Briefing & Camps.
SAA reserves the right to drop any qualified Athlete if the Athlete is deemed unfit to perform at a competitive level.
5. APPEALS
a) The appeal process concerning non-selection or removal from the squad will be heard by SAA Training & Selection(T&S) and Sports Development and Performance (SDP) department.
b) The sole ground for any appeal are that this selection policy was not properly followed and/or implemented.
c) Any appeal by an athlete against non-selection or removal from the squad must be made to SAA within 3 working days from announcement. Any appeal must accord with the following procedure:
i. The SAA T&S and SDP department will convene a hearing as soon as possible after the submission of the grounds appeal. The hearing may occur in such manner as the Vice President of Training & Selection decides, including telephones or video conferencing. The SAA T&S and SDP department is not bound by the rules of evidence but must observe the principle of procedural fairness.
ii. Prior to the hearing, the Selection Panel will provide the SAA T&S and SDP department and the appellant with a written statement as to the reasons for the decision against which appeal is made.
iii. The SAA T&S and SDP department will give its decision as soon as practicable after the hearing and will provide the appellant with a statement of the reason for its decision.

4. ENTRY RULES
• Individual Events:
Two (2) athletes per country per event
Three (3) athletes for host country per event
• Team Events:
One (1) team per country per event
5. CONDITIONS FOR VALIDITY OF PERFORMANCES
UNIFORMS: All athletes that belong to a team shall wear the same colour
competition uniform of their respective national federation, in accordance with IAAF rules and regulations.
DOPING CONTROL: Doping control tests shall be carried out in accordance with IAAF rules where the participants shall be chosen by random for doping tests.
Doping control tests will be conducted through urine samples. Competitors chosen for doping control tests shall accompanied by one of the following: team official, coach or doctor.
VISA: It is the responsibility of each member federation to check &
fulfill all requirements needed to procure a visa to enter the
Philippines.
