There will be events where multiple categories to combine and race together, due to less than 3 participants. Below are the events as that will combine to race:

This event is jointly organise by Tug-of-War Federation Singapore (TWFS) and Singapore Athletic Association (SAA).
Our foreign Tug-of-War Federations such as Thailand, Brunei and Malaysia was invited to take part in this prestigious event.
Professor Ho Peng Keng has agreed to grace the event as Guest of Honour.

At a SAA recent MC meeting on 14th October, it was passed during that meeting that SAA will now recognise S. Pandian’s electronically timed 800 metres timing of 1:50.56 minutes to be added to the SAA records alongside the current men 800 metres hand-timed record of 1:49.9 minutes by Surendra Subramani.

At a SAA recent MC meeting on 14th October, it was passed during that meeting that SAA will now recognise Road Races be to “National Records” instead of “National Best Performances”, in accordance to IAAF as long as the criteria set by IAAF is achieved.

You are warmly invited to participate in two CCE talks by Dr Iñigo Mujika, a keynote speaker at the Singapore Sports Institute Annual Symposium 2014. Dr Mujika is a leading expert in the areas of peaking and tapering. He is now Associate Professor at the University of the Basque Country, Associate Researcher at Finis Terrae University in Chile, and Associate Editor for the International Journal of Sports Physiology and Performance.
The first talk (Scientific Bases of Long and Short Term Training) will cover the basic aspects of long-term and short-term periodization, the limitations of traditional periodization for modern sport and the alternative planning options at hand. The session will also focus on the importance of training intensity distribution, the use of strength training for endurance performance, and the importance of tapering strategies in the lead up to major competitions.

The potential applications of tapering strategies to team sports will also be covered, discussing league competition situations and peaking for a major championship
