The World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) has published the List of Prohibited Substances and Methods for 2013 and it will come into effect on 1 January 2013. Highlights of the key changes to the 2013 Prohibited List are listed below for your information.

Substances Prohibited At All Times (In- and Out-of-Competition)

S3: Beta-2 Agonists

    The permitted delivered (inhaled) dose of formoterol has increased from 36 micrograms to 54 micrograms over 24 hours with a corresponding increase of the urinary threshold from 30 ng/mL to 40 ng/mL.

    Note: The List refers to the delivered dose of formoterol and not the metered dose. The delivered dose is the dose that leaves the mouthpiece and is available for inhalation.

    All optical isomers (d- and l-) where relevant, are prohibited.

S6: Stimulants

    All optical isomers (d- and l-) where relevant, are prohibited.

Substances Prohibited In Particular Sports

P2: Beta-blockers

    Beta-blockers will no longer be prohibited in the following 5 sports:

    – Aeronautic (FAI)

    – Boules (CMSB)

    – Bridge (FMB)

    – Ninepin and Tenpin Bowling (FIQ)

    – Powerboating (UIM)
