Qualification for Singapore athletes

    Dear Coaches and Athletes,

    SAA is keen to send 1 male and 1 female runner to the IAAF World Half Marathon Championships in Kavarna, Bulgaria on 6 Oct 2012.

    The Team traveling dates will be 4 – 7 Oct 2012 (TBC)

    The best ranked male runner who runs below 1:10hr and best female ranked runner who runs below 1:20hr will be nominated for this meet together with one official. (Only Singapore Citizen will be nominated/ selected)

    Athletes who wish to be nominated have to inform SAA and submit official documentation of their race timing, before 17 September 2012. All official race timings and results from 1 Aug 2012 till 17th September will be taken into consideration.

    You can also write in to SAA to appeal your selection if you have not met the entry time.

    The appeal deadline is on 17 Sept and SAA will revert within 3 days of your appeal.

IAAF Entry Details

    No Entry Standards

    Preliminary Entry deadline: 6 August 2012 (Midnight Monaco time)

    Final Entry deadline: 24 September 2012 (Midnight Monaco time)

    Member Federations may enter one team in each race. A maximum of seven athletes may be entered; no more than five will be allowed to start, with three to score.

    Individual entries by Member Federations are admitted in any of the two races and the finishing athletes shall be eligible for the corresponding individual awards.

IAAF Age Eligibility

    Any athlete who is at least 18 years of age on 31 December of the year of the competition (e.g. for the 2010 Championships, born in 1992) may compete in the event.

Gary Yeo finished second in his 100m men Preliminary Round in a time of 10.57 seconds. The 26-year-old managed to qualify to Round 1, his field includes American sprinter Tyson Gay.

After a positive start to his Olympic debut, he stumbled slightly in Round 1.

Gary Yeo capped off his Olympic outing with a 10.69 seconds (-1.4m/s) 8th place timing in Round 1. His heat was won by American Tyson Gay in a time of 10.08 seconds.

He unfortunately did not manage to qualify for the next round.

The event to be held this 5th August at Singapore Polytechnic stadium, has uploaded its start list and schedule.

The 74th Singapore Open Track & Field Championships 2012 has uploaded an updated schedule and entry standard.

For the schedule there’s changes of 10,000m men starting at 6pm on day 1 and day 2 schedule will now ends at 6pm.
