There was one new national record, by Abdul Hakeem in the men 110m hurdles (1.067m) event. He lowered the mark from 14.49 to 14.45 seconds.

Dear Coaches and Athletes,

We have received invitations from Hong Kong AAA and Vietnam AA to compete at their Open Invitational meets.

  1. Hong Kong Open from 30 June – 1 July, likely Travel Dates 28 June – 2 July, Team quota given is 1 Official and 4 athletes. Please see attachment for events contested and requirements.

  2. Vietnam Open (HCM) quota pending and is from 10-13 July (hosting period). Please see attachment for events contested. Most likely team quota will be 1 official and 5/6 athletes. Likely travel dates: 8/9 – 14 July. Please see events contested.

For both events, SAA will use the Priority Tier System* for the final selection of the athletes who are keen to compete in the above meets. Please see website for the write up of the PTS (http://www.singaporeathletics.org.sg/selection-criteria…)

    *For Jrs athletes selection, we will use the 2014 Asian Jrs Championship qualifying mark since the 2 meets are after the 2012 Asian Jrs championship. (Will post the qualifying mark after the completion of the championship)

    *For youth athletes selection, we will use the new 2013 SEA youth championship qualifying mark (3rd placing of 2012 SEA youth Championship)

    *Priority will also be given to the two Athletes for 2012 Olympics.

Some athletes have already submitted their requests and here is a last chance for any others to do so.

The deadline to submit your request for Hong Kong Open is 20 May 2012.

The deadline to submit your request for Vietnam Open is 30 May 2012.
