5. SELECTION OF UNQUALIFIED ATHLETES FOR SINGAPORE ATHLETICS

    a) Singapore Athletics will have to submit the Preliminary Entries to IAAF by 18 December 2015.

    b) If Singapore Athletics do not have any athletes who meet the Entry Standards, we will nominate one male OR one female athlete to the IAAF World Indoor Championships using the:

IAAF scoring points to rank every athlete’s performances from the start of qualification period to 22 February 2016.

(IAAF Scoring Table: http://www.iaaf.org/about-iaaf/documents/technical)

    c) If the top two ranked athletes are 10 or less IAAF Scoring Points away from each other, Singapore Athletics will review based on the average of their best 3 performances during the qualifying period. If the point difference is still 10 or less after this process, the last 3 performance will be used. The Training and Selection committee will then come to a decision on who to nominate for IAAF World Indoor Championships, putting the athletes’ current form as the main priority for selection.

    d) Singapore Athletics reserves the right to drop any athlete if the athlete is deemed medically unfit or has no performance within 50 points to his/her best performance after Jan/Feb 2016 to perform at IAAF World Indoor Championships.

    e) If for some reason that the first ranked athlete is unable to go or cannot participate, the next best ranked athlete will be nominated.
